I'm so pissed off right now. The Gameday people tried to expand to Marshall and we just let it go down the pisser. They have some of the best game streaming services in texas at texarkana and longview and they should be in Marshall too. They contacted the district several times and showed no interest and now they are gone. They do football and basketball and baseball with graphics and instant replays. But we'd rather point an empty camera at a field with no graphics no camera movement and no instant replays. Why would we piss away that chance? We could have commentators and graphics and commercials. But we're going to settle for letting students point an abandoned camera at the field and call it a live stream. Marshall kids deserve better than that. Who the hell is in charge of promotion at Marshall? This was a totally winning situation and we blew it because we are too lazy to get nice things done. Even Pine Tree and Whitehouse can manage nice live streams. We are forever stuck in 1988. The 1988 replays were better than the hot garbage we have now. The radio video stream is almost as bad as the blank one the district does.

I've heard the radio station is stepping up their game with the streams because they knew they might lose them. If someone like Gameday comes in and starts a top notch stream it will effectively kill the radio broadcast. No reason to listen to the radio if someone else has a better broadcast on facebook and youtube.

I don't know that GAMEDAY officially reached out to MISD or vice versa.
I've been told that KMHT is planning on a pregame "on the track" type show. And of course they will do play by play. I have no idea about graphics or instant replays. Can just be hopeful.
KMHT should have a chance to up their game. They might do something similar to what we see in Longview, Lufkin, and Texarkana.
We shall see. No reason to be having a coronary until we see what product they put out there. I don't blame them for trying to keep things local.
All that being said...if everyone is disappointed.... then maybe MISD would consider a set up like GAMEDAY to come in and do their thing.

I have a hard time believing the radio station will provide anything close to what game day does for Longview and Lufkin. They have professional grade production while the radio station just points a camera at the ball and plugs in the radio guys. Sometimes the graphics work and sometimes they don't. They don't have play replays, down markers, time clocks, play clocks. It's as basic as it gets. I don't know why they wouldn't jump at a chance to have game day come to town.

Something to think about: Either they think ticket sales will suffer because fans will stay home and watch the game streaming on tv, or its politics!!! like somebody on the school board is hugged up to the radio station...

Absolutely false.
This has been the most pro-student and pro-athlete school board in MISD history.
10 years ago......If I had told you that every student in MISD K-12 would be in either brand new schools or completely renovated schools worth over $200 million dollars.... would you have believed me?
If I had told you that Maverick Gymnasium, Maverick field, softball, and Maverick Stadium would all be renovated? A 120 yard covered practice facility? Fieldhouse completely renovated?
And they aren't done.
I have faith in this group.

Pine Tree has gameday now. Pine freaking Tree. Marshall always waits till we are the last one to finally do something. Texas hi has gameday and Longview and pine stump and Lufkin. Hell even Jacksonville and Whitehouse have better video of games. Why do we always half ass everything? I guess the rumor of gameday coming to Marshall was a lie. We’re always the last to do anything.
