Big day for MISD.
MHS won’t even be recognizable after this renovation.
It will start this fall and should be completed by spring of 26.

This is really exciting for the school. It's way past due. MHS is still in great shape, but these renovations will make us one of the top campuses in the region. I have a couple of questions though:
Are we really going to put a garage in the front of the school? I know what most garages look like. Do we really want that to be the front of the school How are we going to have all these renovations with school going on? Since the bond passed will this delay improvements to Maverick Stadium? Will we have to wait for the bond to be finished before we see anything happen to the stadium. That means another 3 years of nothing.

All of the renderings I've seen of the projects look really good.
Take a deep breath. Relax.
This is going to be a great thing for MHS.
And I have a feeling we will all be happy with the school AND Maverick Stadium when it's all finished.

This is huge!!! MHS will become one of the most up to date and modern campuses in the state of Texas. With all the dual college credit and vocational programs that allow students to graduate not only from high school, but either with or close to an associates degree makes it very desirable place to go. I predict we will see growth in enrollment over the coming years. There literally won'y be anything left to do. Good job, Marshall. The finished product will be something we all can be proud of.

Good on Marshall for passing another bond. I hope Longview can get it done on their next try. I don't understand why ya'll are doing all these bonds with no work on your athletic facilities being made. Yall's stadium is trash and looks like it needs to be condemned. Guess you can wait till it falls apart like Pine Tree did. Kind of embarrassing to have all those new schools and your stadium be a total dump.

Maverick Stadium isn't perfect, but it's not falling apart. It's had a lot of upgrades over the last few years with MORE TO COME. How's that covered football facility coming over in Longview?   |

This tells me you are either a troll or you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. Mav baseball park has new stands, brand new turf and also has a new scoreboard. New Dugout areas as well. Lady Mav softball field is one of the best in the state for ANY classification. It has brand new turf. It has concrete stands with stadium chairs. And as Obs posted....we are one of the only programs in the state to have a covered FULL SIZED FOOTBALL field. 120 yards all under one roof. Can house football and soccer games during inclement weather. Also used by the band, ROTC, baseball, softball, drill team, track and field...... brand new facility. Less than 3 years old. The Athletic center just got a top to bottom renovation in 2020 and is second to none. Check out the Mav webpage and see what I'm talking about. Team meeting room, media room, workout area, sports medicine area. It's pretty dang swanky. Not to mention the bond will be building a NEW JV/practice gym right next to Maverick Varsity Gym. That's SIX of our facilities that are either brand new....or newly renovated. As far as Maverick Stadium goes.... it has gotten several million dollars in renovations in the last few years. But it's not finished yet. More is yet to come. But the fact is..... it has a new pressbox, new lights, new turf, a video scoreboard, a new track, newly renovated restrooms on the home and visitors sides, new sound system. More to come. Stay tuned. But I'm sorry our facilities disappoint you so much. I've always thought Longview had great facilities....but they appear to be falling behind in some areas. And considering your last bond failed by almost 70%..... you have an uphill climb to change that anytime in the near future. |
