How do you rank the stadiums in our district from first to worst?
1 Pine Tree Ive heard its hard to get in and out when its packed. Never seen it packed. But it's the best set up in the district. 2 Mt. Pleasant It doesn't have much character, but it's modern and has plenty of parking. 3 Marshall all the improvements the last few years have been good. Plenty of parking. Really good atmosphere. Just needs to be spruced up more 4 Texas Hi the stadium alone would probably make it #2, but the parking is terrible and the neighborhood its in makes it real sketch. Great when it's full. 5 Hallsville It's just vanilla. Nothing to get excited about. Never seen the Hallsville side more than half full. 6 Whitehouse more vanilla than hallsville but the home side is a mess with all the different shapes and sized of the sections as they added on 7 Nac other than the turf it looks the same as it did 20+ years ago.

PT had the worst stadium in East Texas for all classifications for years. But now I think we got one of the best. There really aren't any terrible stadiums in our district now. Not like there use to be.
1 Pine Tree Other than the parking and the traffic issues that come with big games, there's nothing to complain about Pirate Stadium. It's the best stadium in the district as far as amenities. It's the best stands, turf, locker rooms, press box, concessions around. When its packed out it can be really fun, but it rarely seems to happen.
2 Marshall It may need a lot of work, but Marshall has the best game atmosphere around. Lots of parking. Last year I noticed they had renovated the restrooms. The pines all behind the scoreboard are a great touch. If they ever clean the place up and fix a few things it would be elite with the crowd they have.
3 Texarkana I put them here because of atmosphere. It's one of the great old places. But the neighborhood around the stadium makes you worry about getting carjacked and the parking situation is pretty bad. The concrete stands are awful. But Tiger fans know how to pack the place out and make it real home field advantage.
4 Mount Pleasant Someone in another post called Hallsville's stadium boring. I think the same thing about mt pleasant. Nothing special. It's nice. But I've never seen it more than half full. It's not a loud stadium. Nothing to get excited about other than it's clean.
5 Hallsville I agree with the other post that called it boring. But it's boring and not nearly as nice at mount pleasant.
6 Whitehouse Their concessions are 5 miles away. They have no security to keep WH students from sitting on the visitors side harassing fans. Their homes side looks like a lego house that has been pieced together.
7 Nacogdoches I'm glad they are finally doing some work on Dragon stadium. It's a depressing place to watch a game. The parking is too far from the gates. It's always empty on both sides. Do they still put the Nac band on the visitor's side? Just a sad place to watch a game.

None of the stadiums in the district are outstanding. But some of them have better feels than others. I'll go by game day feels instead of just facilities.
1- Marshall. Other than Lobo Stadium or Abe in Lufkin, Marshall has the best game day feel around. Gotta hand it to Mav fans, they show up if their team is winning or losing. They are loud and they pack it our with a wall of red. If they ever decide to spend some money on the stadium and fic their bleachers, restrooms, and concessions it would be one of the best venues in the region. But right now its just worn down looking.
2- Texas High. This joint is in the hooooood. But it's a fun place to see a game and it's loud. Hard to believe the school district doens't replace it with a new stadium. It's dumpy.
3- MP. It's a nice place. Visitors side is too small. Not much atmosphere to get excited about.
4- Pine Tree. It might be the nicest out of all of them, but it's dead. The parking is terrible. The traffic getting in is a nightmare. And the visitors side is too small.
5- Hallsville. I barely remember anything about this stadium. Nothing good or bad about it. So it's nothing special.
6- Nac. Haven't been there in over 20 years. Doesn't sound like much has changed.
7- Whitehouse. Never been there. Doesn't sound like I've missed anything .

Feels like this is two different lists going......
Are we talking best FACILITIES....or best GAME ATMOSPHERE? Very different lists IMHO......
BEST STADIUMS 1. Pine Tree 2. Mount Pleasant 3. Hallsville 4. Marshall 5. Texas High 6. Whitehouse 7. Nacogdoches
BEST GAME DAY ATMOSPHERE 1. Marshall 2. Texas High 3. Pine Tree (though the best games I've seen there weren't PT games) 4. Whitehouse 5. Hallsville 6. Mount Pleasant 7. Nacogdoches

Looks Like Maverick Stadium might be getting better:
Work commenced on improvements to the Stadium this week. New front gates, new ticket booths, and best of all a new Visitors locker room!!!
Its a start, maybe eventually, new seats in the stadium, I'm not holding my breath, but I can dream can't I?

If Marshall keeps putting work into their stadium it will be one of the nicest around but Lobo Stadium and Rose Stadium are the top 2 in east texas. No one is taking those top too spots
