Can we at least try something different? This offense has been terrible all season long. They were shut out for over half the game against Tyler. Longview shut them down. Carthage shut them down. Mount Pleasant shut them down and now Texas High shut them down. And even though we beat Pine Tree our offense was terrible most of that game too. The only two games our offense has looked decent in was Henderson and Hallsville and they both have won only one game. We have a quarterback that cant hit the broad side of a barn. He overthows the cheerleaders on the track most of the time. He's not even on the same map as the rest of the players. He can't pass he cant run he cant find his receivers. He's just terrible. He was terrible last year too. Our offensive line is getting worse as the season goes instead of better. They can't block crap. We can't get snaps to the kickers. We shank most of out kicks. Missing field goals. Let the JV offensive line play. Let the JV quarterback play. Can we try something different? We aren't changing anything and just making the same stupid mistakes over and over. Players aren't performing, but the coaches aren't coaching either. I see a sideline full of zombies. No one is mad. No one is teaching or learning. Looks like everyone is in a daze. Feels just like 2020 and 2012 and 2011. Get your crap together.

I think we're all frustrated.
We all knew the offensive line was going to be an issue headed into the season. We knew they were going to be very young after such a senior-laden line last season.
And there's no doubt they have struggled this season. But the helter skelter of it all is what's puzzling to me. Like Observer said.... the first half of the Tyler game we did nothing. But second half we were good.
Longview was Longview.
Henderson we struggled early but figured it out and looked better.
We struggled some at Carthage...but still got some movement. Just too many mistakes.
PT.....first half we looked great. Second half was tough. Same with Hallsville.
And the last two weeks have been pretty dismal the entire games.
We aren't opening holes.... defense is in our backfield at handoff.
Our QB isn't mobile, so that's begging for a sack.
Our passing game has completely disappeared. Passes usually aren't even in the same zip code as the WR's....and if the pass is on point, we're dropping it.
I'm a fan of the hybrid Wing T.....when it works it's hard to stop. I'm just not sure we have the horses to run it this year. Maybe next year. But.... man. I don't know how to fix what we got going right now....but the last two teams have completely brought us to a halt.
The missed FGs and turnover on downs on failed 4ths are killing us too.
A lot of things going wrong.
Better figure it out....or Nac will end our season next Friday.

We have two guys that can be a quarterback and both can run the ball but we seem unwilling to give either one of them a chance. Only 14 points in the last two games. It can't get much worse. But it might actually get better. We got to try something. We are shuffling guys around but we aren't tweaking anything with the scheme. I'm not sure we know how.

We're all disappointed in how the season is gone.
But the season isn't lost. We could still end up the #2 seed.... we are in the exact same position we were in last season. The only difference is that MP and Hallsville flip flopped.
We got 2 weeks to get things settled. Nac isn't going to be easy....but it's winnable. One game at time.
Don't give up on these guys......

I'm not giving up AT ALL! I just want to see a willingness to make some changes instead of repeating the same stuff over and over again with the same result. We have other players we can plug in at QB. We can't complete long passes so lets go for short passes mixed with the run. It was working when we played Pine Tree and Hallsville. It worked against Henderson and part of the Tyler game. We've totally gotten away from all that. We throw long on first down and then we only have 2 downs to get 10 yards then we punt.

The Q back has been bad but so has everyone else. The line is weak and they can’t push a grandma out of the way. They get run over every play. Running backs don’t hit holes. Receivers have butterfingers. We can’t complete a pass to save our life. Overthrow everything. With the defense we have we should be 5-3 right now. Too bad no one on this staff can or will change anything.

These kids have never known life without social media and internet. They are accustomed to it. Nothing is being said online that they wouldn't hear in the locker room, in the hallways at school, or at Walmart. No one is attacking anyone personally. All that's being discussed it performances.....good and bad. If i was a player... if anything......it would motivate me. No personal attacks. That's all I expect. |

I think the problem is the offensive coordinator. He seems completely clueless to me. Good point, but I think it is more than that. I think the OC is trying to be unpredictable. Problem is, when the O-Line cant open a hole with seven in the box, and your QB can;t run faster than an O-Lineman, can't hit the receivers, usually throws a bubble or a bomb, and the receivers can't catch the ball half of the time even when it is on target. It doesn't matter which play you call. You are gonna loose the game unless you are playing a really bad team, like Hallsville, or Henderson. By this part of the season opposing coaches have seen plenty of film showing your weaknesses and they coach their defense to exploit those weaknesses. |

7 to 70 good enough? Crazy.. Who would have thought the defenses wouldn't show up. Will need that offense and the old defense to beat Whitehouse. Although the D made stops when they had to. Just got lazy at times.

Feels just like 2020 and 2012 and 2011. Get your crap together. Well they took your advice!!! QB threw the ball accurately, The receivers caught the passes. O-line blocked the NAC Defense. Special team still needs to practice covering on-side kickoffs. Jekyll and Hyde Offense, Crazy !!! Which one will show up against Whitehouse next Friday Night? Who Knows??? Defensive secondary better show up or Josh Green will burn us, and the Mavs will be on the road for the playoffs playing Lovejoy or Melissa. Neither will be a good first round experience for the Mavs. It will be Carthage or Longview all over again |
