The boys are a dumpster fire. They shoot 3 point shots they have no business shooting because they are terrible at it. They can't play defense. They cant get in the paint. Their shooting is horrendous. They play as individuals not as a team. Looks like they have no direction, coaching, discipline, scheme, nothing. And they just lost to Pine Tree to be all alone in last place in the district. I never thought I'd ever see Marshall in last place in basketball. Until recently we were always contending for the district championship. Now we can't even compete for 7th place.
The girls seemed like they were headed in the right direction, but they lost to a Pine Tree team last Friday that they had no business losing to. If they had won they would have stayed in the playoff race but now they are on the outside looking in. They aren't in as much disarray as the boys are, but they are damn close.

I see what you’re saying, but how do teach a player to not play with fear. When I watch the game I see fear and lack of competitiveness in some of those kids. That nothing to do with skill and talent. That’s having that Big Red Pride Heart! The boys are a dumpster fire. The kids today have a since of entitlement and no work. Times have definitely changed. It’s not a coaching thing. It’s more of a system that has convinced kids early on that they are this or that in the sport they play. Parents and others play a role in this. Some kids just aren’t varsity ready. It’s tough to find 10 committed basketball players and 50 or 60 committed football players. Then you run into situations where key players quit because you can’t coach them hard. That’s happened in football and basketball last year and this year. It’s hard to win when the support outside of the players and coaches disrupts the athletic program. I see what you’re saying, but how do teach a player to not play with fear. When I watch the game I see fear and lack of competitiveness in some of those kids.
