NEW DISTRICT FOR FOOTBALL AND ALL OTHER SPORTS

Losing Pine Tree and picking up Jacksonville made it easier to make the playoffs if your Hallsville or Nac.  I think T High, Marshall, and Whitehouse are still  the top three teams.  First round games are going to be tough with everyone playing south.  I really thought we'd face the Corsicana and Ennis and Greenville district in the first round.  Things are a lot harder going south.

The new district for everything else just got a lot harder to make the playoffs for everyone.  Nine teams means five won't even sniff the playoffs.  This is bad news for boys and girls basketball because both programs are a total mess.  Soccer has been a mess and girls soccer is just awful.  Baseball has got to figure out how to win close games and softball has practically disappeared from sight.  Track is going to be killer with Marshall, Tyler, Lufkin, Hallsville, and Whitehouse.

Marshall has got to figure out a way to become competitive in other sports besides football.  We need youth leagues, development, junior high programs, summer camps.  We have fallen way behind in too many sports.  It's time to get serious and become contenders again.

You do realize that the road to the playoffs is much easier in the football district than the other sports.
