Teardown the concession stand at the baseball field and put seating behind home plate. Build new restrooms and concessions.

MISD hsd done such a great job with improvements the last couple of years. I think there's still things in the works.
But if I had a wish list......
1. Stadium chairs on the home side of Maverick Stadium. Maybe just sections B C and D. Replace the bleachers everywhere else 2. New concessions ares. Ive said it several times.... maybe something in the endzone like they have in Jacksonville. 3. Bricks on the base of the scoreboard. And no more sideways commercials on the scoreboard. 4. More lighting on the stands. The field is lit up great, but it's dark in the stands. A few lamps pointed down on the crowd would really help. 5. Maverick drive needs to be repaved 6. Tennis court renovations; Go look at the tennis complex at Longview. We have been left behind in tennis
I've never thought about having a grandstand behind home plate at Maverick Field like someone suggested above.... but that's a really great idea. Would be expensive though.
I seen some talk about a pool/swim team..... and that's going to be a HUGE expense for MISD. I agree that it's a shame we don't have a team anymore....but is there demand? And even if there is a demand.... how do they raise the money to get a pool up and running. The Lifecenter pool is already inclosed, so that might be the way to go if we did it. But I don't know how much $$ woudl be needed to get it running. Not to mention it's not on campus. The city pool is complicated because it belongs to the city.... run by the boys and girls club. They would likely be opposed to putting a building over it. And how much would it cost to heat it and get that building? The upside.....it's on campus.
I think we'd need to consider some athletic expansion at MJHS too. A field house. Maybe a small stadium set up.
And it's not athletics....and I know they just did a great job renovating the auditorium at MHS.....looks fantastic.... but a performing arts center would be a huge addition. They have recently built one at Texas High, Hallsville, and Longview. Not cheap though.
And we really need to get into hunior high soccer, baseball, softball...... so we can get these players ready for varsity ball when they get to HS.
That's just a few of my thoughts.

They need to put an actual scoreboard over or beside the videoboard. So everyone, including officials, can see the important info. Like score, time remaining, quarter and down & distance. I know for a fact it's difficult to see on the video screen. It's even completely unreadable on the live streams once it gets dark. Doing so would also free up more space on the video screen.
