They took us to the woodshed last season and made us look terrible. We can't be looking past them thinking about Texas High. We need to take care of business this week and make sure we are on pace to get the number two seed in the district. Marshall needs to do all they can to get a home playoff game and avoid playing PNG or Huntsville in the first round of the playoffs. I'm still concerned about the passing game, but the running game should be able to control things as long as we don't let their quarterback sit in the pocket and throw dimes to his recievers like they did last season

Last two years we have lost games we had no business losing. It was Hallsville in 2022 and Mount Pleasant last year. We can't come out flat. We are coming off a bye week, we have homecoming, and we have a team we have mostly dominated. Not to mention we have the danger of thinking about Texas High as week early. These are all traps we can't fall for. Mount Pleasant has talent and we can't overlook them. I'm not sure they are as good as they were last season offensively, but they still can throw the ball and have a shifty running back. Our seconday has to be ready to get picked on and our run defense has to be ready for the back, but also for the qb to run too. I think keeping our offense on the field for long sustained drives is the best thing we can do. We need to grind and wear them down. Run the ball down their throats and pass enough to keep them honest. Got to stay focused on this week's game.

We played out worst game of our season and they played their best game of their season last year. I also blame part of that loss on coach Alvarez for going for it on fourth down on our own side of the field twice. We giftwrapped two scores for them last year and that's how you lose. In spite of how bad our offense was we still only lost by 10 points and that was totally on bad coaching calls.

This game got me nervous. We overlooked them last season and they bodyslamed us into the turf. If it happens this year we won't be so lucky to still end up getting a home game. We will end up having to go south and play either Montgomery or Huntsville on the road. We have to take this game seriously and make sure we do what we are suppose to do in this game.

We should have punted several times in that game instead of going for it on 4th down. But the biggest reason we lost that game was our offensive line got owned and our defensive secondary got lit up like a torch.
