Pass defense is going to have to be ON POINT this week. Hey have two legit D1 wide receivers in Hatten and Paddie (former Maverick). Their quarterback is a good one too. Our secondary has been suspect at times this season. We've allowed some deep balls against Longview and Tyer. And all of them have had success with the screen pass against us. We need to get that all shored up. We've also had fumbles in EVERY game. Sometimes we lose them and sometimes we don't...but we can't be putting the ball on the ground like we have been. Bad snaps, running backs not protecting the ball. We need to keep Slone in short pass situations. Seems like when we go deep, it's going to be an interception more often than not. But his short passing game is actually really good. We need a clean game we need to keep their offense on the sidelines. If we can do that..... no reason we can't get this win.

Marshall wins 28-24.
We're going to play keep away and not let their offense stay on the field. Grind it out with Davis and Robinson. Slone will make some good passes to the Carthage defense honest.

This Carthage passing attack has me a bit worried. If we can slow it down and keep the ball in our hands, we might have a chance.
But the way we've been giving up long passes and screen passes all season is something o be worried about.

Carthage recruits and everyone knows it. I have no idea why we want to play a team like that. It's like Evangel back in the day. They have a totally unfair advantage of players from all over East Texas plus the best coaching staff money can buy. We got what we bargained for.
