What happened to the swim team? When I was in school we had a small but competitive group? Now we are the only 5a school in east texas that doesn't have a team. That's embarrassing. MHS should be recruiting coaches and students to all sports to include as many as we can. There is a swimming pool 200 feet from the school. There is no excuse for there not to be a team. Shame on everyone for letting this happen.

It would be stupid to spend all that money to turn the city pool into an indoor pool for 5 or ten students to use. It is embarrassing that a 5a school doesn't have a team, but no one seems to care. We don't have a girls golf team either. And we may as well cancel tennis they are so bad. |

And it won a lot more than the precious soccer teams have. Cancel soccer and bring back swimming. |

I have to agree with Swimfan. It's sad that we've dropped the ball for the swim team. We need to get them reorganized and get them a facility up and running again. What happened to the Lifecenter? Maybe the district can get that facility up and running again. We should be offering every sport our district rivals are offering. No excuses not to be.

From what I understand....there is still a pretty active swim club for Marshall (Marshall Marlins). They have agre groups from 5-6 years old up to teens. But we don't have a team at MHS any longer. I think it dissolved around 2018 or so.

Are we really talking about a swim team? We don't have a pool, a coach, money to spend on either or more than 5-10 students in the whole school that would want to participate. Total waste of time and money
