$42.9 Million bond that WILL NOT RAISE TAXES. It will include: 1. Construction of a new Career and Technology Center (Vo-Tech/Automotive/welding/Agricultural) to prepare many students for the workforce after graduation. 2. Construction of an auxillary gym for PE classes, dance, cheerleading, and other extra curricular activities. Mav gym was renovated in 2022. It's a very busy place with volleyball, boys and girls basketball, and other athletic needs. 3. Updates to band, orchestra, and Choir areas. Band has had explosive growth and the MHS Corral is one of the most respected in Texas. 4. Renovation of the Library, Cafeteria, lower commons area, and every classroom in the upper commons. 5. Replace flooring and interior walls in all rooms and hallways. 6. Exterior renovations. 7. Exterior lighting 8. School buses.

I don't see how anyone could vote no to this. The building is almost 40 years old and needs a facelift. This is way cheaper than building a new school. Won't raise taxes and extends the life of the building by another 20-30 years or longer.
My only complaint is that they are completely ignoring Maverick Stadium when there's so much that needs to be done. Our tennis area compared to Longview and Hallsville is just terrible. And finding out the swim team had to disband because of a lack of an indoor facility is kind of pathetic. Especially when there is a pool 100 feet from the school at the Boys and Girls club. If the club won't maintain it and keep it open, then the district should take over and use use it for the swim team. When I was working for misd the swim team was really growing.

Bonds are 100000 times harder to pass with extras like stadiums on them. I still can't believe they put a secondary gym on there. Leaving work on the stadium off the bond increases the chances that it will pass. There isn't nearly as much complaining about this one, but people still need to get out and vote or it will fail. And I think everyone agrees we need to do something.
